Selling the Cosmic Surfer - a 1974 Ford Econoline E100 (1/2 ton) shorty van. This van needs nothing... hop in and drive!
Original 302 V8 engine paired with a (presumed original) C4 automatic transmission. Factory power steering and power brakes. The van has aftermarket air conditioning that works! I had the A/C converted to 134a in the fall of '25.
Mileage reads 90,XXX and could very well be original - van sat in an Arizona junk yard for over 20 years. True dual exhaust side pipes with headers, and the van sounds phenomenal.
Minor oil leak @ the rear main seal and the band adjustment on the transmission has a small leak (trans pan gasket replaced). I check fluids once a month and drive the van as-is with no issues.
Body and undercarriage of the van are exceptionally solid - no frame rot or rust. The van originated from California > Arizona > Wisconsin > and now, Indiana.
The "Parrot Orange" paint and all sheet metal are factory original. No body filler or sheet metal replacement. All floor pans are solid. The purple graphics were painted by the previous owner's father, after saving the van from the junk yard. While the exterior is not perfect, it presents very well for a 52-year-old van.
All dash gauges work, including the aftermarket RPM gauge. All interior/exterior lights function as they should. The aftermarket cassette tape deck works great, and all speakers work.
